How many Pokemon are there in Pokemon X and Y? The new game from GameFreak features additional new Pokemon set to expand the current roster of 649 Pokemon to around 700 or more(?). I listed below the new Pokemon that will first appear in the 6th generation of Pokemon games.
Note: This page is constantly updated for new information whenever new Pokemon are revealed for Pokemon X and Y.
Chespin is one of the first Pokemon introduced in the game. It is a starter Pokemon.
Fennekin:
Type: Fire Classification: Fox Pokemon
Chespin is also a starter Pokemon with the fire-typing.
Froakie
Type: Water Classification: Bubble Frog Pokemon
Froakie is first introduced when Pokemon X and Y are first revealed.

Sylveon is a brand new Pokemon and another evolution of Eevee. It is still unknown how the Pokemon evolves from Eevee as well as its type.

This Pokemon resembles a panda. It is first revealed in May 2013 in a CoroCoro magazine leak. It knows a brand new move - Parting Remark

This Flying Pokemon knows the move “Nitro Charge”. I feel that this Pokemon will be the default flying Pokemon at the start of the game.
Gogoat

The player can ride on Gogoat’s back in Miare city.
Helioptile
Type: Electric / Normal Classification: Generating Pokemon
This is a Lizard Pokemon with a rare type combination. It knows the move “Parabola Charger”. This move can damage the opponent while at the same time healing the user.
New Pokemon Forms
New Mewtwo Form
Type: Psychic Classification: Not yet revealed
Mewtwo has a new form in Pokemon X and Y. It is still unconfirmed if it is an evolution or another form though.
2 legendary Pokemon are already introduced for Pokemon X and Y. They are Xerneas and Yveltal. It is expected that the new generation of Pokemon games will also feature more Legendary Pokemon apart from the 2 mentioned above. N-Handhelds, your Pokemon blog has a separate page for legendary Pokemon here.
Keep in mind that I will be updating this post as information on new Pokemon are revealed. Stay tuned here on N-Handhelds, your Pokemon blog, for more Pokemon X and Y information. Also, please visit our Pokemon X and Y Page.
The Pokemon Deoxys Comes To Pokemon Black and White 2
Pokemon Black and White 2 owners stand a chance to get the legendary Pokemon Deoxys soon on their games. Deoxys will be available through a special Wi-Fi Distribution on May 8, 2013. It will be at Level 100. Deoxys is sad to be a space virus that got turned into a Pokemon when a laser hit it. It has four forms: Normal, Attack, Defense, and Speed. According to Marriland, there is a chance that this Deoxys has the following moves: Nasty Plot, Dark Pulse, Recover, and Psycho Boost.
Pokemon With Hoodies If there is something more awesome and cool than the Tim Burton-styled Pokemon designs, it will be these Pokémon art with hoodies! Check them out below:
These art are the works of Instagram user @itsbirdy who draws Pokémon with hooded sweatshirts. Most of the time, the sweatshirts appear to be inspired by the Pokémon’s evolution. Just take a look at this Charmander with a hooded sweatshirt inspired by Charizard:
Really cool. @Itsbirdy’s work has already become viral in Instagram and is making the rounds in the Internet. Drawing Pokémon is always cool work.
The Pikachu 3DS-XL We So Wants is Now Coming to the States
It looks like the most sought-after Nintendo 3DS-XL theme is coming to North America, and of course, to everyone who has a North American 3DS elsewhere (self included).
The Pikachu 3DS XL, which debut in Japan last year was finally announced to be coming in the States. Pictured above, Pikachu graced the outer cover of the console. It’s cute face is on the lid while the tail can be seen on the bottom. It will be available on March 24, 2013. That’s when the new Pokemon 3DS game is coming - Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity. It will be available for 199.99$. That’s still very low compared to the 3DS’ original price.
The Nintendo 3DS eShop Gets a Demo of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity
The next Pokemon 3DS game, titled Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity is coming to the Nintendo 3DS eShop in demo form this March 7. This gives us players atleast 2 weeks to try the game before the game launches on March 24 in North America.
In Europe, however, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, which will have free DLCs in the first month, is coming on May 17, 2013. That’s an awful lot of waiting time. But fret not, we have plenty of other 3DS games we can enjoy before that date. I’m talking about Luigi’s Mansion, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, and a lot more.
Get the Pokemon Meloetta on Your Pokemon Black and White 2
The Pokemon company recently announced 3 promotions involving Meloetta, the mythical Pokemon.

On March 7th, there will be 2 promotions that will be available at the Pokemon Global Link. First is the Meloetta Musical. Download it and you can have a new stage performance at the Musical Theater located in Nimbasa City. Second, you can get a new CGear featuring the Pokemon itself. This CGear, however, will only be available for Pokemon Black and White 2 only.
If you want Meloetta goodies mentioned above, you need to hurry downloading and/or getting them since these promotions will only run for a limited time.
The Pokemon Global Link has witnessed lots of promotions since it was first launch. Among them are Pokemon dolls, CGear, and Pokemon themselves.

The Pokemon company has just revealed the upcoming Pokemon film’s official title: Extreme Speed Genesect and the Awakening of Mewtwo.
Mewtwo?!
Yes, you’ve read it right. Looks like the 150th Pokemon is making its official return to the movie screens since the first movie : Mewtwo Strikes Back. But what could it be doing in this new movie? Apparently we still don’t know, as we were just treated with a brand new trailer with no reference whatsoever to Mewtwo: The trailer almost implies Genesect being resurrected from a fossil and being experimented upon by Team Plasma, the primary antagonist group in the 5th Generation of Pokemon games. This of course, bears a resemblance with Mewtwo’s background story. We may not know now, but we will in the future!
If you have been reading N-Handhelds for some time now (which, chances are, you don’t, >.<) you may have notice that we have a lot of Pokemon-themed content (This is a Pokemon blog, after all.) Where do I get the news? I get it through Twitter, Facebook, Google search, and Reddit. I also have in my Google Reader a number of Pokemon sites which I follow.
I have cited that website, whose mascot is the charming Sewaddle, a number oftimesalready. The guys there are fast in delivering Pokemon news and updates, plus their themed content are definitely good reads as well. I don’t comment there, however, but that doesn’t mean that I do not support them.
Recently though, PokeJungle has experienced problems with their servers. Paul, the site’s owner said it a post:
“Sadly I couldn’t even update the CoroCoro post while it was an ongoing story because the site would only sporadically load enough for my edits to go through. If you’ve been curious about the problem, it’s actually our site hitting its RAM usage limits or the CPU limit which automatically renders an error to whoever gets lucky enough to be the visit that the site can’t handle.”
It seems that it now needs more bandwidth to accommodate the spike in traffic that it is getting. Which means that the site is becoming popular! Great! But that also means they have to increase their current bandwidth plans or move to a new server. But they cannot do that with their own money since the guys there are college students with student loans.
In short, perhaps we can probably help them in any way possible right? The guys there are humbly asking for your assistance. Perhaps you can help? Check out their post.
We just got the news that the Pokemon Eevee has a new evolution, and the Internet has now exploded with this eevolution’s fanart and tweets regarding this new Pokemon. Take a look at what people from Twitter are saying. Tumblr was also assaulted with everything Ninfia. Here are some of the pictures I have found:
Perhaps some of the pics are not accurate. Heck, we were only teased a single image scan. But that single scan resulted in what you can see above. Expect more of Ninfia in your favorite social networking site. After all, a lot of questions remain unanswered, such as Ninfia’s typing, attacks, etc.
